Singing Bowl & Yoga Workshop in Sefton Park: A Grounding Outdoor Experience
While the sun was shining & the birds were singing we hosted a peaceful and restorative outdoor workshop combining therapeutic yoga and sound healing. Set among the trees and under an open sky, the session brought together a group of people looking to slow down, reconnect, and breathe more deeply — both physically and mentally.

The event was a collaboration between myself, Abi (sound healing facilitator and founder of Flowstate), and yoga therapist Penjali Penny Naylor guiding a grounding yoga practice. Our aim was simple: to offer an accessible space for rest and reset, using practices that support the nervous system and encourage presence.
What We Practised
Penny opened the session with a gentle, therapeutic yoga sequence focused on grounding and heart connection. Her approach supported us to move slowly, tune into breath, and soften tension in the body.
After the movement practice, I guided a sound healing session using crystal singing bowls, chimes, and instruments to guide the group into meditation & relaxation.
As the group settled into stillness, the sounds of the instruments and the sun on the skin created a calming atmosphere — layered with birdsong and the natural rhythm of the park. Many participants described feeling more centered and spacious by the end of the session.
The Impact of Being Outdoors
Holding the workshop in nature added a powerful dimension to the experience. Practising yoga and sound healing outside — with the breeze on your skin, the light shifting through the trees, and the ground beneath you — deepened the sense of connection and calm. It was a reminder that we don’t always need to be inside a studio to feel supported in our wellbeing.
What People Said
“That was the most grounded I’ve felt in a long time.”“The sound journey felt like I left my body and returned softer.”“I didn’t know how much I needed this. Thank you.”
