Henna Workshop: The Perfect Craft for Autumn

On Wednesday 22nd of October, we hosted our Henna workshop at the WHISC, which turned out to be one of the most relaxing and creative afternoons we’ve had.

Practising henna offers a range of wellness benefits that go beyond its beauty and artistry. The process of applying henna can be deeply relaxing, as the focus required to create detailed designs encourages mindfulness and helps quiet the mind.

A Calm, Sensory Experience

Much like meditation or other creative forms of self-expression, working with henna allows you to be fully present in the moment, easing stress and promoting a sense of calm. It’s also an outlet for creativity; experimenting with different patterns and styles can boost mood, confidence, and overall mental well-being.

Our Session

The class was led by Abi, our friendly and talented instructor, who created a warm, welcoming environment for all who attended. With all henna cones, stencils and templates laid out for participants, everyone was given full creative freedom to do whatever design wherever they choose! But don’t worry, Abi was always nearby to offer guidance, helpful tips, or a quick demo whenever.

The room buzzed with focus, accompanied by laughter and a positive vibe. We immersed ourselves in crafting patterns and trying out various techniques. The atmosphere was serene yet vibrant, striking the ideal balance between learning and enjoyment.

By the end of the class, we all departed with stained fingers, several unique designs, and a deep appreciation for the art of henna. It was an enjoyable, hands-on, and mindful experience, and would certainly recommend it to anyone seeking to try something new or relax creatively.

Check out below for some of the beautiful designs that were made!
