Pregnancy brings so many changes — physically, emotionally and mentally. Having a space where you can slow down, move gently, connect with your body and learn practical tools for pregnancy and birth can make a real difference.

We’re delighted to be returning to May Logan Healthy Living Centre in Bootle for another block of our free Antenatal Yoga & Sound Healing sessions, with a new daytime time slot of Tuesdays, 1–2pm.

This next block includes six free, standalone classes, offering a welcoming and supportive space to explore movement, breath, relaxation and sound healing throughout pregnancy.

Whether you’re completely new to yoga or already have a regular practice, these sessions are beginner-friendly and suitable for any stage of pregnancy.

Why Choose Antenatal Yoga During Pregnancy?

Pregnancy can bring aches, tiredness, changing energy levels and plenty of emotional shifts. Antenatal yoga provides an opportunity to work gently with your changing body while developing tools that can support you throughout pregnancy and into birth.

Our sessions can help you:

  • Move and stretch gently to support mobility and ease everyday pregnancy discomfort

  • Build strength and stability in a pregnancy-appropriate way

  • Explore the breath and learn breathing techniques that can be useful during pregnancy and birth

  • Release tension and relax through mindful movement and rest

  • Connect with your changing body and the experience of pregnancy

  • Create a deeper sense of connection with your baby through mindful movement, breath and stillness

  • Meet other expectant parents and feel part of a supportive local community

There’s no pressure to perform or achieve anything in these classes. The focus is on listening to your body, moving in ways that feel good and creating space to pause.

Movement, Breath & Sound Healing

Each session combines gentle antenatal yoga, breathwork, relaxation and sound healing.

We’ll explore movements and stretches suitable for pregnancy, alongside breathing practices that can help you feel grounded and connected.

We’ll also use a range of sound healing instruments to create moments of deep rest and relaxation. Sound can be a beautiful way to finish your practice, allowing you to become still, settle the nervous system and simply take some time for yourself.

Every session will offer a different theme and collection of practices, giving you plenty of tools that you can continue to explore outside of the classes.

Six Free Standalone Sessions

This block runs across six Tuesdays:

Tuesday 8th SeptemberTuesday 15th SeptemberTuesday 22nd SeptemberTuesday 29th SeptemberTuesday 6th OctoberTuesday 13th October

1–2pm

Although the sessions form a six-week block, you do not have to attend every class.

Each session is designed to stand alone, so you can book and attend around your own schedule, appointments, work and energy levels.

You’ll also receive weekly course materials to take away, giving you practical ideas, information and practices that you can use at home between sessions.

Suitable for All Stages & Beginners

You don’t need any previous yoga experience to join us.

The sessions are beginner-friendly and suitable for any stage of pregnancy, with gentle options and adaptations throughout.

Pregnancy is different for everyone, so the most important thing is learning to listen to your own body and work within what feels comfortable for you on the day.

Whether you’re newly pregnant, well into your second trimester or approaching your due date, you’re welcome.

What to Bring

Yoga mats are provided, so there’s no need to purchase or bring your own.

You’re very welcome to bring your own mat if you prefer, along with anything else that will help you feel comfortable during the session — such as a cushion, blanket, water bottle or extra layers for relaxation.

Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely and come ready to slow down and take an hour for yourself.

A Welcoming Community Space

The May Logan Healthy Living Centre in Bootle is a fantastic community space, offering a range of health, wellbeing and community services locally.

It provides a welcoming setting for these sessions and creates an opportunity for expectant parents to come together, connect and access free wellbeing support within their local community.
