Workshop: Park Yoga, Movement in Nature

As the seasons change, we've begun to slowly introduce park yoga & outdoor community yoga (weather permitting!) Part of my practice is meditation focussed so we've also been working with sound healing through exploration of singing bowls, tincture bells & sound therapy to deepen the practice & provide frequency healing for those attending our classes! We held our first outdoor yoga sessions in the gardens of some of our refuge centres, and have since found the perfect park spots to begin offering weekly nature based movement exploration <3 Keep your eyes peeled for our dates & locations & join our whatsapp group for updates!

Practicing yoga in nature and incorporating singing bowls into your practice offer numerous benefits for both the mind and body:

  1. Connection with Nature: Being in nature enhances your connection with the environment and promotes a sense of well-being. Practicing yoga outdoors allows you to breathe fresh air, feel the sun on your skin, and ground yourself in the natural surroundings, which can deepen your yoga practice.

  2. Reduced Stress: Nature has a calming effect on the mind, reducing stress levels and promoting relaxation. The combination of yoga and nature allows you to escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life, helping to alleviate tension and anxiety.

  3. Improved Focus: Being in a natural environment can enhance concentration and focus during yoga practice. The sights, sounds, and sensations of nature can help to center your mind and bring awareness to the present moment, enhancing the meditative aspect of yoga.

  4. Enhanced Physical Benefits: Practicing yoga on uneven terrain can challenge your balance and engage muscles that may not be activated in a typical indoor practice. Additionally, breathing in fresh air can improve respiratory function and oxygenate the body more effectively.

  5. Sensory Stimulation: Singing bowls add an auditory element to your yoga practice, creating a soothing ambiance that can deepen relaxation and promote mindfulness. The vibrations produced by singing bowls have been shown to induce a state of deep relaxation, reducing stress and tension in the body.

  6. Energy Balancing: Singing bowls are believed to balance the energy centers, or chakras, in the body through sound therapy. The vibrations of the bowls resonate with the energy centers, helping to clear blockages and restore balance to the body's energy system.

  7. Enhanced Meditation: Singing bowls can be used as a focal point during meditation, helping to quiet the mind and deepen your practice. The gentle sound of the bowls can facilitate a state of deep relaxation and inner peace, allowing you to experience a deeper sense of connection with yourself and the world around you.

Practicing yoga in nature and incorporating singing bowls into your practice can provide a holistic approach to health and well-being, nurturing the mind, body, and spirit.
