On Wednesday, we gathered at WHISC (Women’s Health Information & Support Centre) for our Winter Wellness Workshop, our Yin Yoga and Sound Healing session created to offer a moment of pause, softness, and nourishment for all who attended.
And what a beautiful afternoon it was. The room felt gentle, warm, and grounded, a place where everyone could exhale and simply be for a couple of hours.

A Beautifully Received Session
From the moment we began, there was a collective sense of relief in the space, that feeling of finally allowing yourself to slow down after holding everything together for too long. Many women shared that this was the first time in weeks (or months) that they had stopped long enough to reconnect with their own breath.
The Yin Yoga Practice
The Yin portion of the session was tender, quiet, and accessible for all. Participants expressed appreciation for:
the slower pace,
the grounded shapes,
the ability to go at their own rhythm
As we eased into long, supported postures, something shifted, shoulders softened, breath deepened, and that familiar tension many of us carry finally began to melt away.
The Sound Bath Experience
The sound healing that followed created one of the calmest moments of the afternoon. The crystal bowls carried the room into a deeply restorative stillness. Some women shared afterwards that they felt emotion rise to the surface, a release, a lightness, even a sense of clarity they hadn’t expected.
Sound baths can often bring feelings up, but this is part of the healing process: moving through what’s stuck so the body and mind can reset.

Why This Kind of Space Matters
Many women who attended spoke openly about the weight they carry daily, work stress, caregiving responsibilities, emotional labour, financial pressure, or simply the exhaustion of trying to be everything to everyone.
This is exactly why Yin Yoga and Sound Bath healing continue to be so important, especially during the winter months.
The Power of Community Healing
One of the most touching parts of the afternoon was the quiet sense of togetherness. Women who arrived tired or overwhelmed left feeling lighter, calmer, and more connected, not just to each other, but to themselves.
The oracle cards, soft lighting, journaling space, and open sharing afterwards added to this sense of community and allowed everyone to integrate their experience in their own way.
Gratitude & What Comes Next
We are deeply grateful to every woman who joined us and to WHISC for creating such a nurturing environment. These workshops are part of Flowstate’s commitment to making holistic wellbeing accessible, not exclusive or out of reach.
Seeing how meaningful this session was only strengthens our intention to continue offering spaces for rest and reconnection.
If you joined us, thank you for showing up for yourself. If you couldn’t make it, we have many workshops coming up for the winter. Check out our Instagram for more information!
