Stitch Bar: Embroidered with love

There’s something special about seeing a handwritten note transformed into thread.

At our recent embroidery pop-up, visitors were invited to choose a word, phrase, affirmation, or message that meant something to them. Whether it was a favourite saying, a reminder from a loved one, an inside joke, or a simple message of encouragement, each piece was completely personal.

Guests wrote their chosen words in their own handwriting, and we carefully hand-stitched them onto a handkerchief or T-shirt, creating a one-of-a-kind keepsake to take home.

Throughout the day we stitched everything from heartfelt messages to playful phrases, proving that the smallest words can often carry the most meaning. Every piece became a little snapshot of a person, a memory, or a moment in time.

Set beneath the canopy with flowers, embroidery hoops, colourful threads and plenty of conversation, the experience became about much more than stitching. It offered a chance to slow down, connect, and celebrate creativity in a simple and meaningful way.

Watching people's faces light up when they saw their handwriting transformed into thread was a reminder of why we love creating these experiences. In a world that moves quickly, taking time to make something by hand feels more valuable than ever.

We can't wait to bring the Stitch Bar to more markets, festivals, workplaces and community events soon. I'm also planning a community based workshop in which I guide YOU to create your own or we work as a group to create a collective piece

Choose a word. Stitch it. Make it yours. Take it home
